How to Observe Maha Shivratri Fast?
A day before Mahashivratri, devotees eat only once, usually on Trayodashi. On Shivratri day, after morning rituals, they take a Sankalp (pledge) to observe a full-day fast and eat only the next day. This vow is made with self-discipline and devotion to Lord Shiva.
